We Are Not 🚫 Crabs 🦀
"Pulling someone down will never help you reach the top" -Anonymous
I once heard something interesting about catching crabs. When there’s only one in a basket, you need a lid—because it’ll try to escape. But when there are two or more? No lid needed. The crabs will pull each other down, making sure no one gets out.
That, my friends, is crab mentality. And sadly, it’s something we often see in real life—not just in baskets. Some people don’t succeed not because they lack potential or hard work, but because others around them keep pulling them down.
It’s time to stop this mindset and practice.
Let’s choose bayanihan instead—the Filipino value of helping one another. Imagine what could happen if we stopped dragging people down and started lifting them up. We could build human towers of success, not cages of insecurity.
You don’t need to do something grand. Small, consistent actions matter. Teach a child to read. Help someone start a business. Share your skills. Encourage, not compete.
Ask yourself today:
Are you a bayani—a hero helping others rise?
Or a talangka—a crab holding others back?
Nation-building isn’t just big speeches or headlines. It starts with daily decisions.
Let’s rise—together.🙏
